Ruth Strange Hand-Painted Porcelain Vase

An elegant hand-painted porcelain vase attributed to noted porcelain artist and instructor Ruth Strange. The low, rounded form features a luminous white porcelain body accented by an elaborate hand-applied gold design surrounding the neck and shoulders. Delicate floral motifs, scrolling foliage, and latticework are intricately rendered within the rich gilded decoration, creating a beautiful contrast against the smooth white porcelain. Ruth Strange was a respected porcelain artist and longtime instructor whose teaching influenced generations of china painters, including artists who later became instructors and leaders within the porcelain-art community. With its graceful form, intricate gold detailing, and connection to the tradition of American porcelain painting, this distinctive piece would make a lovely addition to a collection of hand-painted porcelain, decorative arts, or china painting.
